This week: Voting Wednesday:
In store shopping?
For me, it´s going to be bookstores! If I buy books, I definitely go to a bookstore and buy it from there. Especially when I´m abroad like in France or Ireland, so it would not be too easy to get the books back home. I love to visiting bookstores which are, lucky for me, in almost every corner for example in Paris. Books are also cheaper there, and mostly French too. Here, at home I check those out frequently, but buy rarely. Actually, I tend to look for interesting new books there and then
Do you give up on a book and abandon it without finishing or do you struggle through no matter how bad?
Lets go back in time because from the time I learned how to read, when I was six until my early twenties I think I always finished the book I was reading, no matter what. Even if i didn´t like it, I read it because I wanted to know how things turn out to be. I didn´t event considered any other way. After my life got somewhat busier with some adult stuff like work and other things I still read but if I read for example about 50-100 pages of a book and if it seems boring or stupid or there aren´t any characters to identify with or even to sympathise with I drop the book. In that case, I feel like I´ve looked it through and when you think about how many great books there are and books that I even want to re-read, I think it´s just fine.
All in all, most of the time I finish books that I´m reading and normally read them at least for some time before thinking about abandoning it. This doesn´t mean that I would not read books that I don´t like, it means that I´ve gave myself somekind of permission to drop it if it feels like it.
